Linda Collison

Linda Collison is the author of novels, short stories, and nonfiction. Water Ghosts, a contemporary YA novel from Old Salt Press, and Looking for Redfeather (Fiction House, Ltd; 2013) were both Foreword Reviews Book of the Year finalists . Her first novel, Star-Crossed (Knopf/Random House), was chosen by the New York Public Library to be among the Books for the Teen Age – 2007, and inspired the Patricia MacPherson Nautical Adventure Series (Fireship Press).

With her husband Bob Russell, Linda has written two guidebooks: Rocky Mountain Wineries; a travel guide to the wayside vineyards, and Colorado Kids; a statewide family outdoor adventure guide (Pruett Publishing).  Linda and Bob have sailed thousands of nautical miles aboard their sailboat, Topaz.  The three weeks they served as voyage crewmembers aboard HM Bark Endeavour inspired Linda’s nautical historical fiction.

Collison’s fiction has won awards from Foreword Reviews, Literary Fiction Book Review, Honolulu Magazine, Southwest Writers, and Maui Writers Conference.  She and Bob now call Steamboat Springs home –when they’re not on the road.

As L. S. Collison, Linda writes Nurse Kit Carson’s Knife & Gun Club, serialized short stories – satire and social commentary set in a dystopian Wild West and based on her own past experiences as an acute care nurse in Denver hospitals.

Linda leads writers workshops and gives presentations about the writing process.
