Lynette Lochausen joined the Steamboat Springs Writer’s Group in 2018. Raised in Texas, she completed her undergraduate degree in French and Home Economics there, married and had three daughters. Years later, she obtained a graduate degree in school counseling in Florida and moved to Steamboat Springs with three teenagers in 1986. Four unique seasons with great outdoor adventures available in each appealed to them, as did the excellent schools.
Lynette is now retired as a k-12 school counselor and part-time college tutor. With her daughters educated and independent, she and her second husband of 25 years enjoy travel, volunteering, and evenings reading by the fire.
In her career, her previous writing experience consisted of many letters to college admissions on behalf of students and a few righteous letters to the editor of the local paper. Now, however, she writes for personal creative pleasure with hopes of leaving family members a group of stories and memories by which to remember some very good times.
