Roz Leaming is an endocrinologist, volunteer in medical administration in the Midwest, In Indianapolis. She is quite new to writing but not to reading. The first three-quarters of her career (36 years) was in research, in insulin resistance; in private clinical endocrine practice, as well as being a wife and mother. Now retired from clinical practice she lives in both Steamboat Springs where she and her family have been coming for over thirty years and have lived here six months of the year for the past ten years. She now concentrates as a volunteer in medical administration in northwest Colorado and is endeavoring to take up a new career, writing. It is a bit insane to try at this stage of life, but no one is dead until they decide to be. She is working on her first fiction novel and finds the encouragement and criticism of her work by the Steamboat Writers instrumental in her education. In her spare time, she reads; bikes, hikes, skis, and travels with her husband of forty years as well as with kids or friends, learns about environmental issues and loves birding.
